The Jardin des plantes de Rouen is a real lung of the south bank of Rouen
The botanical garden extends over more than 8 hectares and dates from 1840. It is both a place of relaxation and a place of discovery due to its great wealth of plants from all over the world.
Recognised as a Botanical Garden in France and French-speaking countries
Among the 5600 species of plants, you will find medicinal plants and aromatic plants, and you can visit the melliferous garden with an educational vocation
as well as a tropical greenhouse that smells of exotic perfumes.
This magnificent Jardin des Plantes de Rouen offers you the opportunity to observe different plant collections:
- aromatic and medicinal plants,
- the Iris collections,
- collections of Dahlias,
- a collection of Asian flora
- rock garden plants,
- the tropical greenhouses
- its tree heritage.
It also has a rose garden, part of which is made up of roses from Normandy, as well as a conservatory orchard and a national collection of Fuchsias.
Numerous paths allow you to discover this heritage and to notice the 17th century pavilion (a place for exhibitions, conferences, animations), the orangery, the greenhouses, the presence of ponds and aviaries.
Throughout the year, a rich and diversified programme is offered in the Jardin des plantes, the green lung of Rouen.
Workshops, conferences, activities, numerous cultural and scientific events for the whole family await you.
Throughout the year, the Jardin des Plantes opens its doors to artists for exhibitions on nature. These exhibitions take place in the 17th pavilion, the Orangery or in the garden.
The Jardin des Plantes de Rouen has been owned by the city since 1832.

Low season: from 01/11 to 29/02 from 8.30am to 5.45pm
High season: from 01/03 to 31/10 from 8.30am to 7.45pm
